Well last night turned out to be a really great evening. 370 women and Tosca met and spoke with each and every one of us. She was so friendly and down to earth and quite gorgeous. We had a great time meeting other women and exchanging stories. Tosca was the keynote speaker and her speech was just great - very inspiring and motivating - I'm going to re read her Eat Clean Stripped book this weekend. They served an eat clean dinner - our salad was arugula with beets, bocachini, brussel sprouts and a couple other things that I couldn't identify but tasted great. The main course was a grilled chicken breast with spinach and quinoa stuffed tomatoes. Dessert was not my favourite - I can't even remember what it was now. Anyway, got on my scale this morning which isn't accurate but gives me a bit of a guideline the days I'm not at the gym and I can tell that I am at my lowest weight yet so I'm very much looking forward to Monday mornings weigh in.
Breakfast this morning was my kashi cereal. Lunch was my chopped salad with chicken - I only ate half because I also had a small bowl of my leftover homemade broccoli soup - so I will eat the rest of my chopped salad for my snack this afternoon. Tonight is going to be tricky - I'm going with some friends to La Casa - italian....yikes....I guess I just have to order as best I can and just eat half of it. And no more than 2 glasses of wine with lots of water. Then tomorrow back to protein and veggies.
Heading out with the kids and dog now for a power walk for me and bike riding for them. So happy to enjoy this great weather.
One of the things that I loved about Tosca last night is for all the loss and obstacles that she has had this past year her outlook on life is so positive. She makes eating clean sound so easy and when she breaks it down you really say to yourself - yah, everything she says makes TOTAL sense. Why wouldn't I want to fuel my body with pure healthy natural foods that will not only help in weight loss, but glowing skin, great insides, positive attitude, better digestion, better sex life, etc....so many benefits to eating healthy. I also find it so interesting that until she was 39 years old she was quite overweight and led a very sedentary life - until she met her second husband - Robert Kennedy who was the owner/publisher of Oxygen magazine. With him by her side she was able to get into the best shape of her life and now at the age of 54 she looks and feels amazing. Pretty great role model I would say.
Yesterday when I was at the gym I spoke for some time with a girl I know that also competes in bikini contests and is in amazing shape after having 2 children. She told me that by working out with weights 3-4 times/week within 6 weeks I should really see a difference in my body - everything will start to tighten up now that I've lost the weight. Next week I'm back with Rita 2 days and I'm ready for her to kick my butt and to brainstorm with her for new food ideas. I'm feeling great.
