A Good Looking Grocery Cart

I was at the grocery store this morning and while I was standing and waiting for my turn to check out, I was looking in the cart and I have to say I felt a sense of pride when I saw what was in there.  It just looked so healthy and colourful and made me feel like an awesome mother and wife knowing that I am providing my family and myself with great food choices.  I took my daughter who is 8 to a child dietician yesterday since unfortunately she has to battle a bit with her weight and her food choices and it was a great meeting.  Even though I don't eat much fruit, she told me to load up on fruits and veggies for Avah, fruit or veggie with every meal, less milk, more yogurt, etc...all sorts of great 8 year old tips.  And she also talked to Avah about trying new foods and how fun it is and luckily she is adventurous so last night at dinner I made a roast in the crockpot with potatoes, quinoa on the side for me, roasted asparagus and then I cut up cucumbers cold and pineapple.  Jack and Avah had so much fun trying a bit of everything and deciding what they did and didn't like.  Jack likes quinoa, Avah doesn't, Avah likes pineapple, Jack doesn't, etc...it became a game for them.
So today my grocery cart looked like this:
Chicken breasts - I like to get Tom to bbq me up 6 or 8 and I use them cold for my lunches each day.  I'm also going to use them for Avahs lunches at school as well.
Whole Grain wraps - for Avah and Jacks lunches
Lean Ground Beef to put in my spaghetti sauce for the family tonight while I go out to an event.
Smart Pasta - thats as good as it gets for us - we don't do the whole wheat pasta yet.
Raspberries, strawberries, plums, apples, bananas and pineapple.  Everything is washed and ready to get at easily.
All colours of peppers, now cut up into strips and stored in tupperware containers for my easy use.
English cucumber for Avah and I.
Yogurt in a variety of flavours for Tom and the kids
1% milk - we dont use skim milk in this house - the look of that watery stuff makes me want to barf.
Eggs and a carton of egg whites for my omelettes

I think that was it for today.  I love seeing a cart look like that and while of course every day isn't that way, today was a great day.

I had my egg white omelette for breakfast this morning, just about to have my chopped salad, quinoa and chicken now, then snack will likely be my greek yogurt shake with flaxseed.  Supper I will likely just have a few bites of their pasta and then head out the door to the Fisher Gibson Nash Mercedes Event - there is food and drink there so I don't want to go starving and make bad choices.
